Ibeyi

I came across this group called Ibeyi a few months ago on Instagram, and liked what I heard straight away.
They are twin sisters from Cuba, but based in Paris. Lisa-Kainde Diaz and Naomi Diaz. They sing in English and Yoruba . Lisa plays the piano and Naomi plays the Cajon and bata drum. i would describe their music as Yoruba, Afro Cuban, French, African Folk, fused with jazz and a bit of classical. Hard to categorise, and shouldn't be. It's just amazing music.
I was recently lucky enough to catch them at there sold out gig in Shepherds Hill, and what an amazing gig it was. I was also able to purchase there album and E.P on Vinyl. They are back in London in May, and I shall be going back for more.
